Lilian Surgeson

Lilian Surgeson is an experienced classroom teacher and currently works for a leading online alternative provision for learners who are unable to attend physical schools – the vast majority due to anxiety. Many of these learners, who communicate through text chat, have flourished outside of the traditional classroom environment. Over the last twenty years she has worked predominantly with vulnerable and challenging learners, in a variety of settings. In mainstream schools she successfully raised the attainment of previously disruptive learners. She also has extensive experience of working with learners with SEMH in a special school setting, and in residential children’s homes, where she worked with some of the most challenging children in the UK, supporting them to re-engage with learning.
